The filter was able to achieve around an 8.5 (out of 10) on the alkaline scale, which is good but not excellent.
Getting a 10 would be great, but it really depends on your source water. If your source water has lots of minerals in it, then it is possible. But in my case, I guess my water source (city water) doesn't have alot of minerals). I have considered buying a remineralization filter add-on which would increase the amount inside, but I can live with 8.5 water for now.
Be aware that you have to find a "sweet spot" of water pressure for the unit to perform.
To find this out, run the unit on several different water level pressures, and then test samples with the reagent testing kit. Once you find a pressure level that is right for you, ONLY use the unit with this pressure level, otherwise it doesn't perform that well.
My unit did not put out acid water (no matter what I did), but I don't have any need for acid water, only alkaline water, so it was not that big of a deal.
The performance of the unit greatly depends on the water source being put into it. The water must have trace minerals in it in order for the ionization process to work. That means you have to use tap water, or a special filter that doesn't remove the minerals. Or you can buy a remineralization filter as well which puts minerals back into the water after it has been filtered.
However, I find it easier to just use tap water directly from the faucet.
The system was also easy to install, and is WAY easy to use (all you do is turn the faucet on, and push a button). That's it!
It even has a filter warning LED, which tells you when to replace the filter.
Overall, I would rate this unit as a BUY if you don't want to spend alot of cash, and you are not too concerned with a large volume of filtered water. It is sufficient for family use.

The MicroLite has all of the features of its predecessors, the enormously successful Masterpiece and Mavello. Redesigned, to be even more efficient and user-friendly, the MicroLite also includes the revolutionary BioStone Far InfraRed filter. As well as filtering out impurities from the input water, the MicroLite passes the water through what Jupiter Science has dubbed 'BioStone' , a ceramic formed of the semi-precious mineral Tourmaline. Tourmaline NATURALLY emits far infrared energy (FIR) and changes the surface tension of the water, making it (a) easier to process for the ionizer and (b) beginning the negative ion creation process. In practical terms it means you'll get better water by far, even with the "Purified Only" water, and you'll get more antioxidant effect with the alkalinized water, without an accompanying increase in alkalinity. These new filters will be the standard for all future Jupiter models. Jupiter have also incorporated Coral Calcium in the filter. This assists ionization in cases of mineral deficient water such as tank water, and of course, helps us maintain our calcium balance internally. Calcium has the ability to unite with sodium fluoride and converts it to calcium fluoride, a more benign form of fluoride. As Coral Calcium, it's also the ideal 2:1 mix ratio of calcium and magnesium with a host of essential trace minerals. The MicroLite comes with the new Biostone filter installed. (You also have the option of buying your MicroLite with a regular Jupiter filter). Jupiter Microlite Features: * Quality Platinum coated Titanium ionizing plates * 5 settings of pH to suite every member of the family, pressure and temperature safety features * Auto water cleansing - you don't wait for water ever! and you don't have to worry about bacteria build-up * Stylish look with full electronic LED panel, and slim line styling that fits almost anywhere * 5-year manufacturer's warranty
