We have had no problems with the refrigerator or freezer. It offers generous and easy access storage of fresh and frozen items. As with our previous Kenmore side-by-side, we purchased this LG model due to the ice-maker in the door feature that provides more shelf space in the freezer.
CON: Ice-Maker
Unfortunately, the ice-maker is a big disappointment. It makes ice very slowly (about 6 cube every 12 hours). The "Ice Plus" feature will double production but still agonizingly slow, especially if you are preparing to entertain people. You should plan on stockpiling ice for a week in advance.
CON: Water Dispenser
The water dispenser is very handy but has a serious dribbling problem. You will need to learn to keep your cup or pitcher under the dispenser for 1-2 seconds after you release the dispense button or you will end up with a wet floor. Additionally, evidently the water reservoir is much smaller than previous units we have owned. Except for a few glasses early in the day, the water will be lukewarm. The $50 filter does a good job making our local water more drinkable. The flow of the water became noticeably slower at about 5 months, but $10/mo for filtered water is still more economical than bottled water.
